Ecesu Sertesen started her orchestra career as solo clarinet player in the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra in 2008.


She gave the world second performance of Fazıl Say – “Khayyam” Clarinet Concerto in 2012 in Eskişehir after the world premiere of the work by Sabine Meyer, also performing the turkish premiere of Hasan Niyazi Tura’s Clarinet Concerto in the same period.


Invited to the 40th Jazz Days in Germany, Freiberg on April 24, 25 and 26, 2014, she performed the Clarinet Concerto by Hasan Niyazi Tura and Leonard Bernstein’s “Prelude, Fugue and The Riffs” with the Mittelsachsischen Philharmonie Orchestra under the baton of General Music Director Raoul Gruneis at the concert “Classic meets with Jazz”. After her concerts in Freiberg, Dobeln and Mittweida, the critics praised her playing as “unique” and “silky”..


ln December, 2015, she was invited to the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra as Buffet Crampon artist, where she performed the Clarinet Concerto of Hasan Niyazi Tura, then giving a masterclass organized by Tom – Lee Music and Buffet Crampon.


In August 2016, she was a juror at the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition in Taiwan, where she also gave a recital and three masterclasses in Taipei, Tacihung and Kaohsiung.


On 25th of September 2017 Sertesen performed a recital at the Buffet Crampon’s New York Showroom in NYC with great success.


In October 13rd, 14th and 15th she performed Fazil Say’s Op. 36 “Khayyam” Clarinet Concerto with the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt under the baton of Howard Griffiths in three concerts in Frankfurt (Oder), Postdam and Brandenburg.


In September 2018 she recorded Max Bruch: Clarinet & Viola Double Concerto Op. 88 with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna conducted by Howard Griffiths with violist Kyoungmin Park, a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, released under SONY label in 2019 October. Orpheum Foundation which supports young talents on world stages was the sponsor of this project.


Ecesu Sertesen was invited as jury member to the prestigious 5th International Jacques Lancelot Clarinet Competition in 2020.


Parallel to her solo works and chamber music career, she is holding the principal clarinet position at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra.


Sertesen is an official performing artist of Buffet Crampon.
