Grigori Kovalevsky joined the “Moscow Virtuosi” Chamber Orchestra as a mature musician as he had a vast experience in ensemble and orchestra performing activity before this position. His appearances in ensembles together with S. Richter, B. Davidovich, V. Spivakov, Yu. Bashmet, V. Krainev, E. Virsaladze, M. Pletnev and E. Kissin, and with the Borodin Quartet as well as a number of classical and modern recordings have won him a high reputation.
He is a founder member of the Moscow Virtuosi Principals and settled in Spain when the Moscow Virtuosi had a contract with the Principality of Asturias, but then returned to Russia in 1993. Nevertheless he has kept in contact with the Moscow Virtuosi Principals and still performs regularly with them.
