Jiří Vodička (violin), David Mareček (piano) “Dvorak”
A new project of violinist Jiří Vodička with pianist and Czech Philharmonic CEO David Mareček focuses on the interpretation of compositions by Antonín Dvořák. The musical experience guaranteed not only by the power of Dvořák’s music but also the virtuosity of both performers, is enhanced by a learned introduction to the life of the composer. The audience will get a unique opportunity to dive into Dvořák’s musical world, which has space for joy, love, harmony, as well as melancholy and hope.
Jiří Vodička is praised for his original, deeply-felt play and for leaving an imprint of his personality on the works he performs. When describing his art, critics talk about the most intense emotion without sentimental pathos, soulful interpretation and nonchalant elegance. He regularly performs with orchestras in the Czech Republic and around the world and is one of the most talented Czech classical musicians.
David Mareček studied the piano and has collaborated with famous classical musicians from the Czech Republic and abroad. His best-known projects include a joint video recording with world-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein, successful CD with opera singer Jan Martiník and critically acclaimed tour with another great cellist, Michaela Fukačová.
