Kammeroper Istanbul
Kammeroper Istanbul, which was created with the idea of an alternative ensemble in order tosupport and bring a different color to the opera art in Turkey, is the concert version of opera as it minimizes operatic concerts and performances.
The ensemble, which aims to convey the timbre richness and harmonic structure of the big orchestra to the audience at the level of a chamber ensemble, was formed in 2016 under the soloist and general artistic directorship of the baritone Sedat Öztoprak, former General Artistic Director of the Istanbul Opera and Ballet, and as general coordinator violinist Murat Gürol, the manager of the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and the CRR Concert Hall in Istanbul.
Sedat Öztoprak, who had leading roles in many domestic and international operas, has conveyed his experiences to young opera singers with the masterclass programs he has implemented besides his soloist position at the Istanbul State Opera and as the head of the Turkish Committee and the jury of the Vienna Belvedere Vocal Competition. After the artist passed away on February 17, 2019, this project is being brought back to life under the artistic directorship of his wife Efsun Öztoprak, who also served as a soloist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, and the general coordination of Murat Gürol.
In this concert organized in memory of Sedat Öztoprak, experienced soloists of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet as well as young opera singers will join the ensemble consisting of piano, two violins, viola, cello, flute and clarinet.
