Giulia Mazzoni is a pioneering pianist and composer, acclaimed for redefining contemporary classical music through a unique fusion of romanticism and modernity. Trained at the prestigious G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, she has been described as the heir to Michael Nyman—whom she collaborated with—and is one of the leading voices of the “New Classical” movement. Renowned for her deeply emotional pianism, her artistry is marked by a delicate yet powerful touch, capable of evoking a wide range of emotions, from introspective silence to radiant joy. Her compositions, rich in poetic nuance and depth, guide the listener through an intimate sonic journey, showcasing her extraordinary artistic sensitivity.

Her discography includes three critically acclaimed albums: Giocando con i Bottoni, Room 2401 (Sony), and YAS – Your Anima System (Ada/Warner), produced by 16-time Grammy Award-winning American producer Thom Russo. She has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages, receiving widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. She was the first Italian female composer and pianist to inaugurate a national opera house, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with her own music—introducing an innovative instrumental genre into the programming of an Italian operatic institution.

More recently, she composed and performed the soundtrack for Anna by Marco Amenta, presented at the Venice Film Festival, selected for the David di Donatello Awards, and winner of several international prizes. This project further solidified her reputation as a visionary and sensitive artist in the field of contemporary music.

Alongside her artistic career, Giulia Mazzoni is deeply committed to social and cultural causes. She is the ambassador of La Toscana delle Donne, an initiative by Cristina Manetti supported by the Tuscany Region. For her social engagement and artistic excellence, she has received numerous awards, including the Premio Umanità, two Premi Pegaso delle Donne, the Premio Ciampi, and the Corona del Marzocco Prize. She currently serves as President of Musica Italiae.
