TangoNEVA is a concept developed under the umbrella of the Neva Ensemble with the aim of specializing in the tango repertoire .

TangoNEVA is a female tango ensemble founded in 2011 by pianist Ayşe Nil Ülgener. The ensemble consists of six principal musicians from the major orchestras of Istanbul, such as the Istanbul Borusan Philharmonic, the Istanbul State Symphony and the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, with the aim of bringing their long years of classical music experience into tango genre.

Performing almost all the repertoire of Piazzolla, the ensemble became already a pioneer of Tango Nuevo in Turkey. Besides classical tango pieces from all over the world in their original languages, their repertoire also includes classical music arrangements by famous composers such as Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Schnittke and Weill composed in tango styles or influences.

With actor/singer Ali Pınar joining them, TangoNEVA gave numerous concerts in major concert halls and venues in Turkey. Their recent festival concert has been in the context of the Bisanthe Chamber Music Festival in Turkey. This season they are programming a concert tour to South Korea for nine concerts.
